Comexx

Digital clearing house

A digital clearing house for physical commodities: a frictionless, secure and transparent path from initial letter of interest to final settlement.

Physical commodity trades still run on email chains, spreadsheets and an overnight batch, with buyers, sellers and inspectors each holding a different version of the deal. Comexx gives every member its own portal on one encrypted book of record — KYC/AML at the gate, continuous matching, margin and netted settlement — and replaces that chain with one event-sourced book of record, continuous matching, and AI that resolves the routine exceptions before anyone opens their inbox.

Trades arrive once, from anywhere

Broker files, member API submissions and manual entry all land in the same capture layer, normalised to one instrument model. Two-sided matching runs continuously rather than in an overnight batch.

  • FIX, CSV, spreadsheet and API submission handled in one pipeline
  • Tolerance-based matching on price, lots, date and counterparty
  • Duplicate and mirror-trade detection before the trade enters the book
  • Every field carries its source, so nothing is unexplained

Under the hood

Why it holds up under audit

Clearing infrastructure is judged on whether you can prove what happened. Comexx is built so that answer is always one query away.

Event sourcing

Nothing is overwritten. The current position is a projection of an append-only event log.

Deterministic replay

Any day can be replayed exactly, which makes disputes and regulatory questions cheap to answer.

Segregated member data

Row-level access means members see their own book and nothing else, including through the API.

Configurable margin models

Margin logic is data, not code — parameters change without a release.

AI with a paper trail

Model inputs, outputs and confidence are stored alongside the resolution they produced.

Two-way APIs

Members submit, query and reconcile programmatically; banks and market data feed in the same way.

Build one like it

We can build you a system comparable to Comexx

If you run a clearing, settlement, netting or margin process — in commodities, energy, freight or anything cleared bilaterally today — the same architecture applies. We start with your instrument model and lifecycle, and reuse the event-sourced core rather than starting from a blank page.
